Mission & Purpose

Owosso Charter Township Mission

The mission of Owosso Charter Township is to provide the essential governmental services that the residents and property owners in Owosso Charter Township require including Ambulance and Fire Protection.


Owosso Charter Township Board Purpose

The Owosso Charter Township Board are the legislative officials of the Township. The Township Board is made up of seven elected members including the supervisor, clerk, treasurer, and four township trustees. Each of the seven are elected at large and serve four-year terms. 


In general, the board is responsible for three broad categories mandated by Michigan law: assessment administration, elections administration, and tax collection. The Township Board makes policy decisions that guide the Township's operations and enacts local ordinances. 


Regular meetings of the Township Board are held on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Township Hall Council Chambers. All meetings are open to the public.
